Janet Xmas

Grace Smith, a multimedia and performing artist from St. Louis, Missouri, works under the stage name Janet Xmas. Of Wyandot and Burmese American descent, she has spent over a decade collaborating with leading multimedia and noise artists across DIY venues in more than 30 states, establishing herself as a distinctive voice in the underground scene.

Janet's work is defined by her "dada-noise-burlesque" and "ladder-witch" aesthetic, blending ritual, absurdity, dark humor, and femininity into surreal performances. Her immersive, cinematic environments, built from familiar objects, challenge the viewer with themes of chaos, vulnerability, and the uncanny, creating experiences that feel both participatory and voyeuristic.
